HelloI have tried everything, but I can fly the bird only for about 5 to 10 minutes - then FSX crashes with this message:Problemsignatur: Problemereignisname: APPCRASH Anwendungsname: fsx.exe Anwendungsversion: 10.0.61472.0 Anwendungszeitstempel: 475e17d3 Fehlermodulname: PMDG_MD11.DLL Fehlermodulversion: 10.0.61355.62 Fehlermodulzeitstempel: 49b7c81d Ausnahmecode: c0000005 Ausnahmeoffset: 00118301 Betriebsystemversion: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Gebietsschema-ID: 2055Zusatzinformationen zum Problem: LCID: 2055I have tried several fixes found with the search function.Today I have uninstalled FSX and PMDG MD-11 and restarted the PC. After that:1. FSX installed2. FSX Patch1 installed3. FSX Patch2 installed4. FSUIPC 4.60 installed5. PMDG MD-11 installed6. Two minutes after Take-off, FSX crashed again. My OS is Windows 7 and I run FSX with "run as administrator".What else coud cause the problem?Thank youMathias Sutter

Not knowing much more about your system or add ons or your sim settings, I can say that similar people have similar issues due to CPU and memory issues. Are you running any other add ons at the time? From personal experience I can say I have issues with REX. I ununstalled it and ugraded my Active Sky to ASA Advanced and has alot less issues. Even completed a flight from KJFK to EDDP which is a first for me in FSX (FS9 runs the MD-11 much better in my opinion). But before I started reading some tweak guides and got my weather add ons in line life got much better in FSX.

No, I have no additional add ons installed. The settings in FSX are set to medium. The FPS is about 24 all the time.Specs:8 GB DDR800 RAMQuad Core Pentium CPU 3.0 GHzRadeon HD 4870FSX crashes only when flying with the MD-11. The crash is not caused due to something special. It can happen when switching the view or opening the FMS during flight. What I can say is, it does never happen on the ground. I can do the flight prep and the cockpit prep for 30 minutes and more - no problem. Once I took off, it can happen any time.Mathias Sutter

Have you applied the uiautomationcore hack? There's a known bug in FSX with W7 that causes a crash if you dont change your uiautomationcore.dll to an earlier version than the one thats shipped with W7, I believe you need the one from Vista.

No, I have never heard something about "uiautomationcore". Thank you for the hint - I will try it....Mathias Sutter

Hello Mathias,I used to have similar problem. If you couldn't solve the problem yet, try to remove missionpanels.cfg which is in .../microsoft games/microsoft flight simulator x/gauges folder. That worked for me. Because:

The MD-11 uses a very advanced and unique system to deliver such high fidelity cockpit lighting and panel view options. FS has a 64 window limit for panels and by default the MD-11 uses up 61 of them. This means that you have to be aware of this and can only attempt to use a maximum of 3 other panel windows associated with other addons. This includes things like FS2Crew, the Active Sky radar gauge, ProFlight 2000 Emulator, and anything else that installs itself as a panel window. If you go over this limit you will lose MD-11 panel functionality and begin seeing problems with the panel lighting. If you are having issues with the panel, especially in the VC, first ensure that you are not trying to use more than 64 panel windows

Hello VolkanThanks for the hint, but it's not working for me. I have copied the uiautomationcore.dll into the fsx directory and deleted the missionpanels.cfg. At least I was able to fly for about 20 minutes till fsx has crashed again! Normally the crash has occured after 1 minute in the air.Which version of uiautomationcore.dll do I need? First I have tried 6.0.6001.18000 - but things were going even worse. Then I have tried version 7.0.0.0 - this one holds the bird in the air for 20 minutes.RegardsMathias Sutter

I'm using 6.0.6001.18000, it works fine for me. Maybe your issue is not really uiautomationcore.dll then

I think I will install Win XP parallel to Win7 just to play FSX. Live is too short....Mathias Sutter

I have installed XP Pro + FSX -> it's a dream, it works! :) and the FPS are even better.Mathias Sutter

I agree, with this post and the "Life is too short" comment. I was loving life with XP & FSX. But since I am a hardcore gamer and not just a simmer, wanted my DX11 (really to get DX10 back for now). It's ashame MS uses DX10 & 11 as a selling means to get users to buy their new OS's...
