March 21, 201016 yr This is what i have. . . I had it built by a local computer builder who is familiar with FS and overclocking. He's known to a number of simmers and all had good fortune with his work - i had it o/c'd to 3.8.< ="Content-" content="text/; charset=utf-8">< name="ProgId" content="Word.">< name="Generator" content="Microsoft Word 10">< name="Originator" content="Microsoft Word 10"><> [/url]COOLER MASTER Sniper Corsair CMPSU-850TX 850W Intel Core i7 Processor i7-920 3.8GHz 8MB Corsair H50 Water CPU Cooler Asus P6X58D Premium Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600 6GB 3 x 2GB CL7 Western Digital WD6401AALS 1TB SATA 7200 rpm 32MB for OS Western Digital Velociraptor 300GB Samsung SH-S223L LightScribe 22X Dual Layer DVD+/-RW SATA Drive Sony Optiarc DDU1681S-0B 18X SATA DVD-ROM EVGA GeForce GTX 285 2GB Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit http://file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5CDONNE%7E1.BOH%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtml1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml' target="_blank">I have been having problems with the new computer received in early Feb. At first it seemed ok for about the first week or so. Then, when I booted up, sometimes the monitor would go right into 'power save mode', and go to sleep directly. Then I had to shut down the system by holding down the cpu's power button. Other times (as I held my breath), it would go into power save mode right away, but then came to life a few seconds later
March 21, 201016 yr My PSU is rated less than yours (OCZ Fatal1ty 700w), and I have the basic ASUS P6T and I have been able to get my i7 920 stable @ 4.2ghz at 61c max temp. This is with a Cooler Master HAF 922 case, Venemous X CPU cooler, and Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000rpm fan. I tested stability with 8 hours of Prime95 blended test, and 1 hour of both OCCT standard and Linpack torture tests. Ambient temps during testing were around 76f.Here are my BIOS settings:AI TWEAKER MENUAI Overclock Tuner - MANUALCPU Ratio Setting - 21.0Intel Shane Gavin
