March 25, 201016 yr Howdy, Been an Active Sky participant since AS2004.5. Just wondering if ASE depict's any bumpy rides through rain and thunderstorms. So far in FSX today flying in the U.S. through the mid-states some rain (no thunderstorm) but smooth as silk all the way through the rain. Thanks, Josh
March 25, 201016 yr Hi Josh,Yes, I would say that there would be quite a noticeable difference between those situations if you were using ASE. Rain and thunderstorms do generate a good amount of turbulence.
March 26, 201016 yr Author Thanks Jim. One thing I do notice with ASE are the winds are bouncing back and forth like crazy. I will use shift-z and bring the text up on the screen and it is bouncing back and forth like it can't figure out which way the winds are going. The winds seem to be pushing in the right direction but it seems like it is having a heck of a time finding a sweet spot. What brought this to my attn was when I was flying the Flight One ATR 72-500 and noticed my wind arrow in the EHSI going bonkers. Not complaining just sharing information to help. I have faith in the HiFi Team and know you guy's are hard at work. Thanks, Josh
March 27, 201016 yr Hi,On the Wind Options Tab do you have Enable Direct Wind Control and Smoothing checked On?
March 27, 201016 yr Author Hi,On the Wind Options Tab do you have Enable Direct Wind Control and Smoothing checked On? Jim, Yes i have Enable Direct Wind Control and Smoothing on. I know this may seem odd but one thing that seem to help was I unchecked Create Additional Stations and Enhance Route Coverage and it seems to have simmered down the wind issue. Happy Landings, Josh
March 28, 201016 yr Author Just a couple of cent's here. Spent the rest on a cpu and flightsim's ;)' .. I am going back to ASA until there is a service pack or something issued for ASE. Maybe going back to ASA cause I like the blue back drop :). Maybe some of the issue's are being caused cause the weather engine is being made for both sim's which of course make's the trouble shooting a little bit more time confusing and then of course when you get people hitting ya with tech questions they usually aren't specific on the sim in use etc. By the way I am using FSX. In this post just thinking out loud. Happy Landings To You All & Thanks, Josh
