March 26, 201016 yr Am not sure if this is a problem with ASE or with my settings, but I've noticed that with direct wind control and visibility smoothing selected, weather at interpolated stations doesn't seem to change even when the rest of the weather does. For about five days, Montauk (KMTP) was giving me winds of 293 at 13 gusting 21 and a low overcast, no matter what was going on elsewhere. I was finally able to unstick it by deselecting DWC and visibility smoothing, and selecting automatic updates every 15 minutes. With those settings ASE took much longer to load but weather had changed at all stations. The program is great, by the way - am enjoying it even more than ASA, which is saying a lot. But was just wondering if the interpolation thing is a known issue, or an unknown one, or just something I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance.Best,Alan Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
March 27, 201016 yr Hi Alan,If Automatic Downloads was unchecked, then each time you started ASE you were using the same weather file, therfore all your stations would have had the same weather as the last time you used ASE. It was when you clicked Automatic Downloads back on, that ASE downloaded the current weather and then the stations had new data. If you want currect weather all the time, keep this option On. You can go ahead and change those other options. It did take me a few minutes to realize what was going on here for you!!
March 27, 201016 yr Author Ah, OK, that makes sense now. I think I must have confused Automatic Downloads with Automatic Updates - didn't want reloads after the initial load, but I didn't realize I wasn't getting the first one either. Guess I'd better RTFM... I'll restore the global options and make sure everything's in order. Thanks for the quick response, and for an excellent product.Best,Alan Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
