Great job on ASE

Featured Replies

I've been running FSX for several months now and finally have things set correctly. For some reason, I did not pick up active sky for FSX. Always used it in FS9 but finally purchased ASE tonight and love it. I had been using REX 2 weather engine for the time, but I kept getting inconsistent/outdated winds. ASE is just amazing from what I've seen. The information I can get from the map display and briefing are great and something I missed with REX. METARs are always current, and the smoothing methods for winds and visibility work flawlessly. Weather updates are gradual and I don't even notice them - With REX, the weather would completely clear and rebuild a different environment, causing severe changes in winds and clouds. The only thing I was worried about is how it handles the problem of wind shifts - I did notice with DWC on, and FSUIPC settings to weather off, I did experience some erratic wind shifts when climbing and landing, usually below 11,000ft. FSUIPC completely clears this for me by disabling turbulence effects. I've tested this with PMDG 747, LVLD 763, CS 757, and ERJ. I'm using REX2 to install real world textures based upon current conditions and ASE for weather, and they match up great and look amazing.Great job on this product guys - This is a MUST own in my opinion for FSX. Nothing comes close.
