difference between FSX and FS9 texture?

Featured Replies

Hello all , get a small question for you , i got very nice scheme for the Carenado 172N - for FSX . how can i change the file to work with FS9 172N ??what are the difference between the two ??thanks in advance , Best regardsBush man

someone ???Thanks Bush

For the most part FS9 textures which are in DTX3 will work in FSX, although there are exceptions to the rule as long as you have DX10 Preview disabled in FSX.Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but it doesn't hurt to install the textures and see what happens.

The short answer is that most likely you can't. Textures used for one model (such as a Carenado for FSX) won't work with another company's model. The UVW Mapping is entirely different...

Without seeing them, it's difficult to say, but...If the FSX texture has a .dds extension, then the entire thing has to be "flipped vertically" in order to reorient it to work in FS9, and it would have to be resaved in DXT3 .bmp format.Really though, this entire thread belongs in the Paint forum...
