Station Loads not showing in FSX?

Featured Replies

Hi All,I've been tinkering around with a little Folland Gnat in FSX ... having great fun & tweaking the flight dynamics a bit to make it more agile etc.Tweaking .CFG files & .Air files is something that i have done for years since FS2002 So i know my way around. However, can anyone think of a reason why when i pop to the 'aircraft' menu, whilst flying then select 'fuel and payload'My payload is showing a ZERO, when my station loadout is clearly defined in the .CFG file? NO other aircraft that i tweak, is misbehaving like this. (the .air or .cfg are NOT 'read only')I've even copied & pasted lines from another .cfg file, & altered just the numbers to match , & this still has no difference! My payload is showing a big fat ZERO when i have a 200lb pilot sitting in the front seat!!!Here's an extract of the .cfg filemax_number_of_stations = 2station_load.0= "200.0, 6.12, 0.0, 0.0, Pilot"Previously i've also tried:station_load.0= 200.0, 6.12, 0.0, 0.0, //PilotBoth are absolutely valid in other aircraft & work just fine!IS there anything wrong with the above? The above script is identical to a Hawker Hunter I have, that is showing the payload perfectly !, the only difference being that forward position is 9 feet instead of 6.Any ideas? Many thanks in advanceAl

Which Operating System are you using - XP, Vista or Win 7 ?If one of the latter, this may be a "permissions" issue where you are making the edits but they are not actually being "saved".If using Vista or Win 7, try turning offf UAC (User Account Cotrol) temporarily . If the edits are then saved properly, you can Right click on the FSX folder and select Properties and then Security and grant FULL permisssions to it and all subfolders. And always run the shortcut which starts FSX as "Adminstrator".A couple of other thoughts:1. Be sure that FSX is not running when making edits to your aircraft.cfg file.2. After making any edits, restart FSX and start your flight fresh from the Free Flight dialogue - not from a saved flight etc.. Hope these ideas are useful. Keep us posted.

Hi David,Many thanks for replying.I'm running on XP. No it's not a permissions issue. The .cfg file is saving perfectly, & when i re-open it, my changes are there, just as they are with ALL the other CFG file's ive edited over the years, that all work perfectly.so it is a strange one...BestAl
