Flickering ground polygon [Photo]

Featured Replies

Hello guys,I am trying to make a runway polygon. However, it sort of flickershelpwk.jpg. It also does not have the correct heading which is weird because I used to same one from ADE, but I guess that requires some fine adjustment. On a side not, I did the ASM tweak posted on fsdeveloper. Nothing has really helped.

Hello:Have you reviewed the Spotlope (aka Bill Womack) excellent tutorial - Creating High-Detail FS Ground Polygons:http://www.simpilotnet.com/index.php?optio...6&Itemid=32Also, did you remove the ground poly shadow via the ASM tweak, and export the RWY from the FS2002 SDK ?Additionally, your screenie seems to show what may be "bleed-through" due to not placing the RWY slightly above the underlying AF2 RWY, assuming your flatten is truly flat.Furthermore, bear in mind that due to the FSX world model now involving a "curved globe", RWY segments longer than 100 Meters get issues if made all in 1 plane.FYI: FSX RWY ground polys must now be in created / placed as segments no longer than 100 Meters IIUC.NOTE: Most ground polys usually need to be placed at an elevation 0.0125 to 0.03 Meters above the underlying RWY and flatten elevation or other underlying terrain... to avoid the bleed-through flickering sometimes referred to as "Z-Buffer fighting".BTW: Indeed there is a quite a bit of info to be found on ground polys via the WIKI (and Search engine) over at FSDeveloper.Hope this helps !GaryGB
