April 11, 201016 yr I'm considering purchasing Megascenery SOCAL for FS9. I've got megacity Dallas and Atlanta, and Megascenery Mid-Atlantic, which are pretty nice, however, Megascenery Mid-atlantic usually is blurry--at least with winter texturs (given the fact I was flying airliners vice slow speed VFR). Mid Atlantic gives the user the option to allow the program to "modify" scenery/display settings in order to maximize texture build/clarity--I elected not to use this option because of optimized GE Pro and UT/FSGenesis settings. My question is--does Megascenery SOCAL v2 suffer from the blurries when flying more than let's say 200kias? Also, does it also come with a user option for scenery/display settings? Thanks!Rich PerryIntel i7 965extreme edition quad core (oc'd to 3.8Ghz)Nvidia GTX 285 (2GB vid) tweaked with nHancerOCZ 6GB DDR 3 1800mhz RAMRaptor 10000rpm 300GB HDSB X-Fi ExtremeVista 64 pro
April 11, 201016 yr Hi!All megascenery and other large ! photoscenery blurries above 70-80kts. I have all megascenery, but uninstalled all from my rig. I tweeked my game, but not success .
April 11, 201016 yr I used to get the blurries and I don't fly jets that often. But in a turboprop flying well over 200kias I haven't experienced them since I changed my F9.cfg file with the settings listed below. I also have most of my sliders set to their respective maximum with the exception of Mip Maps. I have that set on 4. MegaScenery SoCal V2 comes in crystal clear as well as MegaScenery Northern Cal. My biggest complaint is that they didn't really follow through with the detail as it approaches county line. Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, and many of the cities around there don't look nearly as nice as say Pasadena. But I still think SoCal v2 is pretty cool otherwise. The detail of the mountains are pretty good. Makes me what to go hiking in Eaton Canyon :)Mark[DISPLAY]UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=40TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=400TextureMaxLoad=10[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=0TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4
April 11, 201016 yr Here's a screen shot of me sitting at KPSP by Shez. It's a good example of what you'll see even when you're flying...Mark
