April 13, 201016 yr Just wanted to share the latest screens of my KCSG Columbus Airport located in Columbus GA. Follow development over at http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19283 hopefully this will be a first in a long run of GA Airports from me.
April 14, 201016 yr Nice work, looks good so far. Personally I would have used a mix of the photos and PSD, would save a tone of time and wouldn't look much different. Nice airport, there is some great resolution sat imagery for free of it as well, looking forward to the final. Best, Michael KDFW
April 14, 201016 yr Author Textures are my favorite part, I am a graphics designer by profession so I take great pride in producing the graphics side of things.Where have you found great resolution sat imagery for free? I am currently using Google Earth and Bing Maps, I have not yet started searching for other sources that can be used free in a project.

Here is a shot of the raw data (no color correction or blend map) at level 18 zoom, which is better than 70cm/pixel and the whole airport is a 500+ MB BMP, at 19 zoom the BMP would be about 2 gig (would have to split it) This is about the best you'll get for free, but it's great quality. April 14, 201016 yr Author Very Nice! I plan on retouching the whole ground anyway using it only as reference, did you use SBuilderX to pull that into the sim?
April 14, 201016 yr Yep, SbuilderX. I use this method also for smaller, custom painted BMPs at custom airfields, so I look forward to what you will come up with. Best, Michael KDFW
