Aircraft stops climbing

Rob,I googled "FSinn high TAT" and found several sources of info about the problem. From the VATSIM forum, I found the following:"Weather Bug in FSInn/FSX (affects Speeds, Temperatures, and Climb [above FL245])This is an issue with FSX/Simconnect/weather. When flying at high altitudes (above FL245) there's a miscommunication between FSX and FSInn concerning the temperature. This TAT problem isn't experienced when flying below FL245.The resolution is to turn off FSInn's weather when flying above FL245 and use an alternate such as FSX's weather. There are two ways.Turn the weather off by default (Inn Control Panel -> Set -> Weather [Check/Uncheck]). With this option You will in effect use whatever alternate weather you already have in effect with Flight Simulator.Or (what I consider preferred) turn it off or on on-the-fly by clicking the CAVOK bottom to turn FSInn's Weather off or clicking the VATSIM cloud to turn it on. When you turn FSInn's weather off, use FSX's download real weather +15 minute option. To resume FSInn's VATSIM weather, just click on the cloud next to VATSIMOther references for trouble shooting and configuring can be found in the:VATSIM PRCFSInn ManualFSInn/VATSIM FAQ (generated and maintained from questions asked in our forum... this is a must read for FSInn on VATSIM...)"

Well i gues that does it then. WEll i guess that does it then... Just tested that, and if you use the FSX real weather that updates every 15 mins, it lowers the TAT VERY SIGNIFICANTLY... that is the solution... who wouldve thought haha!

Rob,Glad you got it sorted out. Hopefully one of the VATSIM gurus will be able to chime in with some more insight and perhaps a workaround that doesn't involve the built-in FSX weather. Using the built-in weather has some pitfalls of its own, like rapidly shifting winds and barometric pressure. These things can be dampened with a registered copy of FSUIPC, but there might be a more elegant and seamless solution depending on what your needs are.
