April 18, 201016 yr I don't know if anyone can answer this question, but I have noticed that not one single developer has ever acurately modeled the start up sequence of a turboprop engine. Anytime you start it up it makes the startup noise and when the fuel ignites the prop just spins up real fast. I have had lots of experience around turboprop engines both direct drive and free turbine. When you hit the starter, the prop starts spinning. Even with a free turbine engine the prop will start moving almost right away. All the pistion engine aircraft in flight sim have the prop start realistically modeled but not turboprops. Even the startup sequence for the EH-101 Helicopter is more realistic now. Is it a limitation within flight simulator?Just a question, hopefully someone can shed some light on it...... :( John Bauer
April 18, 201016 yr I do believe it is a flight simulator limitation. It was in the JS41 manuals somewhere as there is a problem with the reversers as well. Andrew McCluskey
April 18, 201016 yr Author I do believe it is a flight simulator limitation. It was in the JS41 manuals somewhere as there is a problem with the reversers as well. Some years back when I had fs2004 someone had made a very nice metro III which has the same engines as the js41 and they were able to realistically model it. I have since not been able to ever find that plane again. John Bauer
April 19, 201016 yr Author well aparently in x plane they have figured out how to do an acurately modeled turboprop startup I wish they could figure out how to do it in fsx. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPMnFNaU8T4 John Bauer

X-Plane is an entirely different simulator. Andrew McCluskey
