April 21, 201016 yr Hi there,I've noticed with a lot of aircraft by various developers, their models extend beyond just the aircraft itself. For example, adding ground handling equipment, stairs, or whether the pilot disappears from the cockpit etc..However, when observing these models in the sim, these extra 'features' appearing or not, seems to be dependant / triggered by certain in-sim events, that are external to the model. For example, whether the parking brake is on or not. Or whether the engine has fully stopped spinning etc... When these conditions are met, they dictate whether the additional models are made visable or not...Is there a way this one might have a bit more control over this, especially if it is an external sim event that triggers whether somthing additional to the model is displayed (or removed) or not... or is it all contained within the .MDL file & cannot be changed, unless you are the original developer?Look forward to your replies. Many thanksAl
April 22, 201016 yr I would sure help if you named the aircraft you need help with :(Hi - In theory i refer to 'any' aircraft that has additional objects appear & disappear depending upon certain 'in-sim' parameters being met.The aircraft that has prompted this thread, is the fantastic Folland Gnat by Brian Franklin. When cold & dark it has an external aircart added. Which seems to go invisible only when the engine starts up, & then re-appears when the engine fully spools down. However is you simulate an engine failure whilst flying.... (or just switch off the engine & glide) - Once the engine has spooled down, the air-cart magically appears in mid-air floating along next to the aircraft, so looks pretty silly! Or you want to simply manoeuvre the aircraft around on the ground whem cold & dark, (shift +P etc) ... the air-cart is being 'dragged' around with the plane, again looknig silly.Your thoughts will be much appreciated. Many thanks Al
April 22, 201016 yr Moderator It is part of the model, and all of the control conditions are encoded into the model as well. The modeler would have to add some additional conditions to the existing ones, such that "if aircraft is not on ground, don't do this!" :( Fr.
