April 22, 201016 yr I just created a simple center gear setup with 2 dummies (D_Gear_Up_Dn and D_Gear_Turn) and everything works as expected in Gmax (frames 0-100 gear moves down, frames 100-200 rotates the gear 360 degrees).2 dilemna:1) For FSX, I have used the rudder_percent_key animation name, so the gear would move at any time, BUT the gear rotates 180 degrees in either direction. (I had set the gear steering in the aircraft.cfg to 30 degrees). Is there a way to restrict the excessive rotating ???2) In FSX the gear (animated with c_gear) is down when over land, but retracts opposite of Gmax when on water or inflight (in other words rotates forward instead of backwards) ???
April 23, 201016 yr Moderator Two points here:1. For FSX only, the "rotation" should be 360 Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
April 23, 201016 yr Author I don't understand the need for adding a key every 10 frames ? Is that a Position or Rotational key ? (I tried it and the wheel was pointed 90 degrees off and then steered from there 180 and -180, dragging the wheel sideways)

(I tried it and the wheel was pointed 90 degrees off and then steered from there 180 and -180, dragging the wheel sideways)FSX cannot compute/interpolate the intermediate positions if the keyed frames are too far apart. If you are seeing such behavior, then you don't have your heirarchy set up properly.Any single part can have one -and only one- animation control. That's why we must use stacked-linked heirarchies. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
