About the DX10 Runway/Taxi flashing....

Featured Replies

I know there is a fix, it was posted here not long ago. However, It requires you to edit the airport with ADE and add a little hidden taxiway.Yet.. I dediced to look for a permanent 'fix', and, don't get too excited, because I FAILED.So far I know what the problem is and I can toggle it on/off, and I suspect the z-fighting you see is not simply solved by pushing 'Z' (because already tried that) and although the flashes go away it hides the runway :) so, its useless. There is a function, that is the one responsible for rendering the 'runways' and their effects. When that 'function' is executed it introduces the 'flashes'. So, I think it is POSSIBLE that there is a bug in Shader Model 4.0 in how in interprets materials OR a material declaration is missing and is required for this.I've spent considerable time with the Shaders, so I know them very well, I just don't think I want to keep trying.. so, If any programmer wants to continue where I left off send me a PM to discuss it. Shaders are in HLSL (High Level Shader Language) which a very basic script like language with C like syntax.
