Run Time error '76", Radar Contact and FSUIPC

Featured Replies

Have been using Radar Contact, FSUIPC and FSX for many years without significant problem.Toward the end of my last 3 flights, I noted that Radar Contact was not working. However, it worked perfectly during the first 1/2 - 2/3rds of each flight.I opened the RC Window and there was the following error:Run Time Error '76'RC.fsuipc.rcv4codeAny idea what this means and what to do to fix it.Never saw this before.Thank you, Al

i'll bet, you haven't defined the path where fsx stores its .flt and/or .wx files. click the .flt/.wx button, and define the path.it could also be your antivirus program, has that changed recently?what else has changed from the time rc worked, and now?jd

Thanks jd: No change in virus program and I turn it off when flying. What exactly should the path be for the .flt/.wx files?Should it be the same as where the flight plan files are saved, that is, (using Vista) C:/Users/My Name/Documents/Flight Simulator X Files? Not sure why this path would have changed from before?Thank you, Al

jd: I re-entered the .flt/.wx file path and at least for the one flight I just did, all went well. Will try a few more flts. However, not sure why it just "all of a sudden changed" like this.Everything was working fine and then this occurred out of the clear blue. Will keep an eye on it.Thanks very much, Al

maybe you weren't saving flights, which also save .rcd files. maybe fsuipc has an option to autosave, maybe somehow that got turned on. maybe you accidentally pressed ctrl-shift-; which saves a rcd file.jd
