Wow, that is really neat. I wonder how many times they had to have the 787 overtake the 40C to get the shots - even at full flaps I'll bet it was overtaking it really easily.

Wow, that's pretty cool, and it's nice to know that Boeing actually care about their legacy and are not simply interested in making a profit. Some of you will recall I did a review of Golden Age Simulations FSX/FS9 version of that B-40 late last year for AVSIM, for which the pilot and restorer of that aircraft, Addison Pemberton wrote a manual, so you could see for yourself how it might be tricky if you have that B-40 for FS yourself. You can get a fair turn of speed with that B-40 (it cruises at 110 and does about 140 flat out in a slight descent), so I'm sure it was fairly tricky to get them in the same shot because of the speed differential, but I reckon they could probably just about stay with one another. For the curious, there's a some good pics of that B-40 under restoration at this site (see the slideshow at the bottom of the page): http://www.opencockpit.net/model/b40.html and if you go to the Pemberton's own website, they have several video clips of it making its first flight after resoration, which is worth watching for the beautiful noise that engine makes. Here's a clip of the B-40 on Youtube, which is well worth a watch:
