May 16, 201016 yr Before purchasing the PMDG 737-800/900 do i need to buy the 600-700 series first? i want to fly the 800 but i'm not sure of it. Your Welcome -VG Windows Vista
May 16, 201016 yr The CD version published by Aerosoft stands alone without the requirement to have the 600/700 first. It might be hard to find, though I see it on Aerosoft's web site again today after being off for a while:http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/ibosh...ow80,5507059850 at USD 36. If you ever think you might want the 600/700 get that and install that CD first. The 800/900 will update that. After you get and install it, register the product on the Aerosoft.com site FAQ/Patches section and you'll have access to the latest service pack.
May 17, 201016 yr Author Thnx very much for the replies i just saw these products at Aerosoft.com and there still on sale maybe someday ill have to buy 600/700 first right? Your Welcome -VG Windows Vista
May 17, 201016 yr If you wish you can buy the Aerosoft 800/900 CD and install it. If you then decide to get the 600/700 CD you uninstall the 800/900, then install the 600/700, 600/700 service pack, then the 800/900, then the 800/900 service pack. The keys come with the CDs and stay with them. These installation procedures are in the documentation with the Aerosoft CDs. The reason you have to uninstall and reinstall the 800/900 is so the 800/900 updates are applied to the 600/700 which had earlier less featured instrumentation. Also I would not wait too long to get the 600/700 if you think you might want it. Aerosoft must have stamped more CDs since they were out of it. PMDG pretty much thinks these are obsolete along with FS9. Once Aerosoft runs out of inventory they may decide that's it.In the scenery arena Aerosoft stated they would go FSX only but it looks like they responded to users and have issued a few FSX products converted to FS9. It is hard to tell the timeline. Thnx very much for the replies i just saw these products at Aerosoft.com and there still on sale maybe someday ill have to buy 600/700 first right?
