[HOW TO] Adding AI Traffic packages to SquawkBox 4 for VATSIM Online Flying

Featured Replies

Scott Bickford released a script in 2003 to do this, evidently it was for SquawkBox3, so it doesn't work now. I decided to re-write the script to support SquawkBox 4 and to allow the adition of *ANY* AI traffic package to be used online (you need to own the traffic package of course)When running this script you will be prompted to enter a unique 3 letter identifier that will be appended to the Title= portion of ALL the [Fltsim.x] sections of your AI aircraft.cfg/sim.cfg files found in the directory this script is run, so BE CAREFUL when running it. Make sure you are executing it in a directory that ONLY CONTAINS FSX AI AIRCRAFTS!! *** QUICK START INSTRUCTIONS ***STEP 1: Run the script ren_dirs.cmd (this will remove SPACES from your AI directories) if they have any.STEP 2: Run the script create_textures.cmd (this will create the list of AI directories to update/modify)STEP 3: Run sms_creator.cmd and follow the promptsSTEP 4: Wait between 5 to 15 Minutes and let the script finish DO NOT INTERRUPT IT.STEP 5: Once the program is finished running, copy the resulting SMS file to your SquawkBox Aircraft folder.Where to download?http://www.venetubo.com/SMSCreator.zip
