PMDG + ASE on FS9

Featured Replies

Hi!I know that this topic has been discussed many times, but like lots of people I

Hi,The settings in the documentation are the best we found. Nothing in FS needs to be adjusted. Maybe some other users have found their best settings and are willing to post them.

Hi Jim and Marcelo,You are right Jim this subject has been discussed over and over about the S-Turns with PMDG 747, MD 11 and LDS 767. I fly the LDS 767 and have too at first experienced the dreaded S-Turns. Before I go further, Marcelo I use FSX on a WinVista system, but what I am going to say should make no difference in either FS9 or FSX.Winds being produced in AS are pretty much accurate at altitudes. Having said that, winds also contain extreme variances or turbulence, that is real world. The PMDG and LDS products have custom designed extremely sensitive and high functional auto-pilots. These auto-pilots react very quickly to sudden changes in weather conditions winds and/or pressure changes. The results are the auto-pilot constant seeking the "correct track", by altering the headings and\or altitude, thus producing the S-Turns.It has been my experience that the FS weather engine or AS are unaware of the affect on the auto-pilots of PMDG or LDS aircraft. Fixing this problem (IMHO) requires a REGISTERED copy of FSUIPC. Setting "Normal Defaults" also does not fix the S-Turn problem either. FSUIPC parameters must be set to minimize these forces. Notice my FSUIPC ini file which has these changes marked in REDAs a result of these changes I have NO S-TURNS in FSX[General]UpdatedByVersion=4600History=X8FPJU46DCSS080YM0SDOTCASid=FlightTCASrange=80AxisCalibration=NoDirectAxesToCalibs=NoShowMultilineWindow=YesSuppressSingleline=NoSuppressMultilineFS=NoAxisIntercepts=NoDontResetAxes=NoWeatherReadFactor=2WeatherRewriteSeconds=1CustomWeatherModify=NoSimConnectStallTime=1Console=NoMouseWheelTrim=NoMouseWheelTrimSpeed=1JoystickTimeout=20FixControlAccel=NoFixMachSpeedBug=NoVisibilityOptions=NoOneCloudLayer=NoCloudTurbulence=YesCloudIcing=YesGenerateCirrus=YesSuppressCloudTurbulence=NoMaxIce=3MinIce=-1UpperWindGusts=NoSuppressWindTurbulence=YesSuppressWindVariance=YesWindTurbulence=NoTurbulenceRate=1.0,5.0TurbulenceDivisor=20,20,40,40SuppressAllGusts=YesMaxSurfaceWind=0WindLimitLevel=200WindDiscardLevel=400WindAjustAltitude=NoWindAjustAltitudeBy=2000SmoothBySimTime=NoWindSmoothing=YesWindSmoothness=2WindSmoothAirborneOnly=YesPressureSmoothness=20TemperatureSmoothness=100DisconnTrimForAP=NoZeroElevForAPAlt=NoThrottleSyncAll=NoWhiteMessages=NoShowPMcontrols=NoSpoilerIncrement=512MagicBattery=NoRudderSpikeRemoval=YesElevatorSpikeRemoval=YesAileronSpikeRemoval=NoReversedElevatorTrim=NoClockSync=NoClockSyncMins=5ClearWeatherDynamics=NoOwnWeatherChanges=NoTimeForSelect=4LoadFlightMenu=YesLoadPlanMenu=YesPauseAfterCrash=NoBrakeReleaseThreshold=75SaveDataWithFlights=YesZapSound=fireworkShortAircraftNameOk=NoUseProfiles=NoPollGFTQ6=YesBlankDisplays=NoAdvDisplayHotKey=65,8 Jim this is different than using normal defaults which will not make these changes. I hope that you and Damian will take a look at this, since it has been such a HOT topic. Thanks for a GREAT product. BTW, what a beautiful day in Detroit today, ain't gonna fly today. :( Bob JohnsonDTW

Hi Bob,We understand and we have put together some suggestions in the Readme.txt document in the ASA/ASE folder.Yes, it is very nice here on the East side as well! I opened the pool on Friday and have a few things still to do.
