Coldanddark exe surprise

Featured Replies

The Coldandark exe works just fine at EGLL but doesn't appear to function at EGLC ...Right now I've been starting up at [wherever] with the Trike, shutting off the engine, selecting J41 from the Aircraft menu, then starting Coldanddark, keying Tab-Q to go cold and dark. Strangely, at EGLC the cold and dark command Tab-Q is clearly accepted - but when FSX "clears" again, J41 is still in half-dark state as before.Any ideas or advice? Many thanks.David Abrahams

Depar,I've read your posted advice with great interest. Thanks! If my understanding is correct, the idea is that you save a "successful" cold and dark aircraft at any airport where the coldanddark exe works OK (such as EGLL in my present case), then move via the file menu to your airport of choice. Assuming this to be an accurate restatement of your advice, a couple of your key points I don't understand:1. "But right clicking the saved flight, and loading via FSX exe works great for me 100%cold and dark." Where do I find the saved flight in order to right-click on it, other than through LOAD in the normal Free Flight screen? (I looked in my c drive FSX folders, but couldn't see anything that seemed relevant.)2. "You can sellect always load these kind of files to be opened by FSX.exe" Where does one make this selection? If you were able to clarify, I'd be much obliged.Again thanks.Best wishes,David Abrahams

Dear David,You should have default cold&dark flight which comes within install pack. Could you find it? (It might be in "MyDocuments/FlightSimulator X" files folder)If so, it is so simple to load it by right click&load with relative proagram exe which is FlightSim we consider for the moment:-)If its not in the list just browse it where you have installed the FSXBefore you open it you shall sellect "always use selected program to open this kind of file"VoilaSo sory for my insufficiant English:-)Once you have done, just locate JS41 where you want, and save with another name and reload it with double click on file, next time you'll flyw8uzk9.jpgDepar Ka
