May 30, 201016 yr Hi.I have a CH pedal set. They used to work and now give spurious signals for the brakes.Even using FSUIPC, I can't stop the brakes going on/off while taxiing. Can someone help me get to the mechanisum where the pedal conects to the pot to change the voltage?I tried un-screwing the 8 screws on the foot pedal but that got nowhere.Anyone?
May 30, 201016 yr If it is a matter of constant breaks, you might try checking the calibration first. It happened to me once that, although I use FSUIPC, they were badly callibrated in the control section of the sim as well. Also, as you probably know, the brakes might need to be set to "reverse" in FSUIPC.If it is really a matter of faulty pedals, you might try visiting the CH-hangar forums. They have a lot of information there on CH devices and can help you further. June 1, 201016 yr Thanks.I have got FSUIPC and tried with setting the NULL part but it seems to be a hardware problem.Yes, I would like to get into the pedals and clean the dirt. Was just hoping that someone here would know.
June 1, 201016 yr Hi Flying Dog,Try this. Start Windows Calibration, early on in the process it will give you the option to Reset the Calibration Values. Select that, then exit without finishing the calibration. Go into FS and make sure that the Null Zone sliders are fully to the left and the Sensitivity sliders are fully to the right for the brakes (X and Y). Then check the FS Controls Assignments dialog and make sure that the "Reversed" box is checked for the toe brakes. Save those (resist the temptation to go back and see if the settings for Sensitivity and Null Zone have "held", it resets them (in some version of FS at least).Give it a try. I usually end up with about a 30% deadzone (in terms of pedal travel). That may be more than you want, you have to go about 1/3rd of the way down before anything happens. You can move the Null Zone slider a bit to the right until you get them to activate when you want them to.Give it a try and see if it helps.Best regards,- BobThe StickWorkshttp://www.stickworks.com
June 3, 201016 yr Thanks Bob. Shall get around to it soon I hope. It is on another machine. One thing is that I would like to do it all through FSUIPC.I have nearly done what you say, but shall check it again anyway. The "reverse" thing had me stumped for a while too. :(Luckily the brake gague helped me find that "bug".
