Menu options flash, but do nothing (was working last week)

I have been running Radar Contact for many months without problem but today, for some reason, things have turned sideways for me. When I launch radar contact (from a networked machine) and the menu opens up in FSX I can no longer select any of the menu options. When I select an option (using default selection keys 1, 2, etc) the menu flashes but nothing happens. I figured out the cause of the problem: the "Tune on contact" checkbox was disabled (I can't say how or when that wsa unchecked). It's very puzzling as I'm lazy that way and have always had that option selected as it saves me from dialing in the frequency before making a call to ATC. I thought it beneficial to post the "solution" in case anyone ever has a similar problem and does a search for a resolution. Thanks,Andreas
