Shader Model 3.0 problem

Featured Replies

I downloaded Shader Model 3.0 today and followed the instructions. I opened FSX and immediately could see the the Aircraft preview was corrupt only showing a spinning blue model of the Ultra Light with no color or detail. I tried to fly and the entire FSX world is messed up, blocky, and just destroyed. Fortunately I backed up my files and reverted to them. This didn't do anything! It remains corrupt and unusable. Any ideas? This is my current FSX.CFG Graphics settings[GRAPHICS]ALLOW_SHADER_30=1SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=2TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096NUM_LIGHTS=8AIRCRAFT_SHADOWS=1AIRCRAFT_REFLECTIONS=1COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1LANDING_LIGHTS=1AC_SELF_SHADOW=0EFFECTS_QUALITY=2GROUND_SHADOWS=0TEXTURE_QUALITY=3IMAGE_QUALITY=0See_Self=1Text_Scroll=1SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED_10=1693500672D3D10=0

sounds like you didn't add the proper lines to fsx.cfg fileedit: you just posted it, try changing shader cache version to 3 and remove allow shader line now that you restored the original files

This is my current FSX.CFG Graphics settings
Press the 'Windows Logo' key plus the R key, you will be prompted to enter a command, enter this:notepad %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.cfgpaste the contents of that file here

Thanks for the replies. I removed ALLOW line and re-reverted to my backup files. I located Shader folders in APPData and delted them. Seems to be working ok now, unmodded.
