HELP! FS2004 2D panel flickers continuously

Featured Replies

Need help here. I already searched the forums and could not find a solution. When I upload a flight in FS2004 and then view the 2d panel, it seems stable as long as the red text in the upper right corner is displayed which says "COCKPIT". As soon as that text disappears, the 2d panel begins to flicker. If I go to windowed mode, the flickering stops, but my 2d panel is about 50% transparent. Back to fullscreen mode and the flicker starts again. I can't figure this out! Everything else looks great - 3d cockpit, other views, etc. It's only on the 2d panel does this happen. Any suggestions?

Probably a driver problem. Nvidia + win7 + FS9 is all sorts of wonky. Have you updated your drivers recently? Might want to try an older release that had been stable. Alternatively, try installing DXT3 clouds, I've found I get quite a bit of flicker with 32bit clouds on my setup for some reason.

Cheers,

Mack

Well, apparently it's an easy fix and I found the solution. If anyone else is having this problem, simply make sure that PanelAsTexture = 1, not 0 in your FS9.cfg file. Problem solved.
