new computer. fresh install FSX - any tricks/tips?

my new pooter is coming today. I will be installing FSX fresh on its own 10krpm driveI have the Deluxe version. should I install the SDK? or not, I'm not a programmer but would I miss out on something maybe with some addons or something?also, will I need to d/l and install simconnect or does that automatically install with the deluxe version. and of course sp2, etcI forgot, to mention I will be installing windows 7 - any tricks there I need to know about?

You'll need to defrag immediately after you complete the installation. For some reason, the installation throws FSX files all over the hard drive. Windows 7 should do this automatically but I would do it manually the first time. You do not need the SDK. Simconnect automatically installs. You will need to install SP1 and SP2 after installing the Deluxe version. If you install Acceleration, you will only need to install the Deluxe version and Acceleration as SP1/SP2 are included in the latter. Take your time. I would run FSX first before installing any addons, including Acceleration.Best regards,Jim
