August 11, 200322 yr Can someone clarify for me: What is the dramatic difference between 7/8ths overcast and 8/8ths that produces such a dramatic FPS hit in FS2k4? My P4 2.26 533FSB geforce ti4200 64mb can easily draw 100% clouds at 80miles at 21 FPS (locked) at anything except full overcast, where FPS drops to 10-12, less with a bunch of AI. Are there really that many more polygons being drawn to show complete overcast?
