Any word on when and whether "position and hold" (FAA speak) will ever be changed to "line up and wait" (all the rest of the world)?

Later this year at earliest. I'll keep the team informed.

It should actually be "line up rwy xx and wait", another correction worth making to RC. By the way, Canada recently made the transition. Further, the UK has it a bit different as well. Would increase the immersion (and number of wavs!) to hear the different variations.

If I rememberize correctly, the FAA has been "studying" line up and wait as opposed to position and hold for something like 11 years. Not I'm not making that up either. Thanks for the reply.
