Cannot save background or theme?

Thought I would throw this one out there and see if you have come across this. Whenever I change my background, like to a solid black color, it always reverts back to some default photo. Same with a background theme. I change to one of the standard Windows 7 themes supplied and it too goes back to some default after rebooting. As far as I know I am the admin of this machine unless there is something I do not know about. Come across this?thx,Clutch

When you change to a solid background color, you must save the change for it to remain in effect. Otherwise it will simply go back to what you had before when you reboot. Themes are what's happening in Windows 7 and that is the default. When you move to just a solid background (and save the change), you have effectively removed the Themes background and to get it back you'll have to go in and select a theme and then close the Personalization window. For themes you don't need to save any changes.Jim

Thx Jim for the reply, but I forgot to mention that I do press SAVE when I change the background to a solid color but it makes no difference?

I have UAC disabled. Perhaps UAC is not allowing you to change any settings. Best regards,Jim
