Create a flight & Flight Planner in FS2004

These two options run incredibly slow on my system, which I believe to be a very good system. I typically have to wait about 45 seconds for each selection (such as a new departure or arrival airport) to be found and recorded. The same with "finding the route" in Flight Planner.Has anyone else noted this?
