July 11, 201015 yr Hi Everybody! Around two weeks ago, i got a new computer. I have now installed windows 7 (32 bit) as well as FSX. I was hoping to be able to get a more realistic fs experience. However, i quickly encountered problems with it, as i get an 'out of virtual memory' message that forces me to close fsx. The problem is with all situations that i put pressure on the computer (especially the pmdg md-11, but in many situations). Virtual memory is set at 4675 mb. This problem makes me angry because with a new computer, i was sure that you could do this. FSX starts okay, but very quickly slows down until it crashes. Running fsx, memory use it very high, but CPU is relativly low. On my old computer, XP with FSX could literally lag itself to stopping without the crashing. Anybody that can help me? :( maybe it just that my computer can't run with that high settings, but then why do i get this message? FSX: All Scenery etc: All set to max, Ai aircraft: Off Computer: Amd phenom x6, 4 gb ram, Windows 7 32-bit, RAID1 1TB Hard Drives

Since you're a "newbie" here, I just want to make sure you have read the excellent setting up FSX and tuning guide: http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041. It discusses your issue in detail. Welcome to the AVSIM forums!Best regards,Jim

Search for Nick's and *******' tweaks. You should use W7 64bit. FSX does not benefit from Raid setups. Yours system might not be setup correctly. What is the authority level of the user login that your are using? Will FSX run using Administrator login? Try turning UAC off. What video card are you using?
July 12, 201015 yr Hi again, i am trying out the changes.btw, i also tested switching from a very slow pmdg aircraft to a defualt aircraft with no change in frame rates,?Graphics card: Ati Radeon HD 5700 series. Can you maybe please explain the purpose of the Nhancer program? Thanks a lot for the help,Manfredps. Set virtual memory to system managed.

It allows for special profiles with additional settings and overrides the nVidia profiles. It's NOT for ATI cards. There is the ATITool. Check out http://forums.techpowerup.com/ for more info on both manufacturers.
July 15, 201015 yr Hi Again, thank you so much for your help. I will start with the good (great) news.Flying over central london in the pmdg md-11 the frame rates were 5-6 (as they have been), turned scenery almost off, and the increased to 16 (???) turned it back on, and it stayed at 14-15 :) which means that might have localised the problem i believe. Also turned on readyboost on a 4gb memory, not sure if it made a difference. I will continue and poke with the scenery settings, i know that there were some tweaks regarding that. Going on holiday now, won't be back for some time, but will continue trying once i come back. Talking about the 'out of memory' messages, they seem to have disappered when i played with the settings and the frame rates went up. Still lags a little though, although not remotly as bad. Thanks so much help//Manfred :)
