July 15, 201015 yr Hi everyone, I'm interested in starting a Winair VA. I know there have been a few of them started in the past (none active now to my knowledge). I'll be honest - I know very little about running a VA and almost nothing about website design/programming/virtual acars. But I am knowledgeable on flying and aviation (real world cpl). And am certainly willing to put effort and time into this.Anyone else interested?
July 16, 201015 yr Author Haha well at the moment I am far from a mailing list, any immediate developments will likely stay in this thread. I have seen a couple other virtual Winair/st barths commuter VAs open and close in the past, so I would think there would be more interest from those involved previously. At the moment I have route maps of the airline, and fleet design would be easy as the only aircrafts they operate now are 8 twin otters, and there are lots of great freeware and payware ones for both fs9/fsx and winair repaints are fairly common. Anyways perhaps I'm looking in the wrong forum or on different websites but anyhow I do thank you for your interest!
July 16, 201015 yr Although not called Winair, there are several VAs out there that are very similar to what you are looking to do, including Fly Oasis. http://www.flyoasis.org/You may want to check some of those out before spending all the time building a new VA only to discover that it has already been done before. If this is something that you are really keen on doing, I would recommend that you try and figure out why the previous Winair VAs were not successful, so that you don't fall into the same problem and all your hard work goes to waste.Blue Skies! July 16, 201015 yr Author Thanks for your reply! Although I'm sure FlyOasis is a decent VA, theyre fleet ranges everything from the Britten Norman Islander to the B767 wich in my opinion dosent really represent the most realistic of setups. Do you know of any other VA's in the area that use a fleet of smaller aircraft (maybe the islander and twin otter)? Thanks!
July 20, 201015 yr Author Update: there appears to be an existing Winair Virtual, see http://taxiways.org/
