Did I buy an illegal copy?

Featured Replies

Well I finally got myself a copy of COF and am not to sure about the quality. Firstly, the game was purchased from Asia by a friend on holidays and I think I may have a less than legal copy of the game. By that I mean I might have the beta copy or some pre release version. I think this because the graphics are no where near what they look like in other photos I have seen and I am running them at near highest quality. They are very blocky and crappy looking. the build version I have is build 30612.02.Did I get ripped off or is something else the problem.Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Hi Milkman..I think your problem is not so with the legality of your FS copy (I have a legal copy and exactly the same build number) .. you do not mention anything about the certificate of authenticity that should have been on the box in the form of a color sticker... that should give you a clear clue... however more likely that you need to do some tweaking to get things right..welcome to the army of tweakers...b rdgs Dick

Your problems are as follows;a) Yes, you probably have got a less than legal copy, so expect to get banned for life by the mods regardless. Would be useful to know what the packaging looks like though and the price.:( The poor graphics will probably be through you using MS2004 on anything less than a 10ghz processor with 5gb RAM. :(
