July 19, 201015 yr I'm going to buy a new computer for running FSX on. July 19, 201015 yr I'm not one of the hardware experts here but this is what I can come up with:-Your processor looks good you may want to overclock it for more performance, so throw in a good cooling system also. Go for the upgrade if you can-How much memory do you have? Your specs just say GB. Try going for DDR3 RAM, this means you'll have to find a compatible motherboard-I'd say change the GPU to a 250GTS (or 480GTX if that's in your budget). You'll want at least 1GB of video memory for FSXOverall this seems like a good enough setup to me, my computer is somewhat similar to yours and I get 25fps in most areas, just stay away from those cities.RegardsAlex

July 19, 201015 yr Im going to be straight with you here but your system for FSX is exactly as you put it: ok. It's not excellent and will probably only run FSX in any decent manner with mid, maybe slightly right of mid sliders. A figure is always handy for your budget to allow us to get the max. for your money and get you the details for the best system in your budget.

July 19, 201015 yr You will need a good board like this one to overclock that chip to 4GHz.http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=MB-281-GIIt's still cheaper to go that way instead of 1090T + 80 quid board like I didI would add one of these coolers:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=HS-005-PLhttp://www.heatsinkfactory.com/thermalrigh...cpu-cooler.htmlMy 1090T is the same chip with an unlocked multiplier and I get 20+ FPS- PMDG MD-11 (Virtual Cockpit) at Heathrow (uk2000) with all sliders maxed except for water 2xLow, autogen normal and 70% Traffic (UT2)
July 20, 201015 yr Author just seen this system at overclockers, would go for Windoze 7 premium and upgrade to the 1024mb card, opinions please.http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=FS-237-OK CORSAIR OBSIDIAN SERIES™ 750D FULL TOWER CASE - Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor i7-9700K (3.6GHz) 12MB Cache - Gigabyte Z390 UD: ATX, LG1151 - 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3000MHz - NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER - 2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE - 1TB INTEL® 760p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (upto 3230MB/sR | 1625MB/sW) - CORSAIR 650W TXm SERIES - CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 120 High Performance Liquid Cooler
July 20, 201015 yr Don't pick a I3 over a 1055T. If you want a budget I7 set up go for a I7 860 or a I5 instead
July 20, 201015 yr If you can't stretch to one of the i7's such as the "Onyx" then I would probably be looking at the "Exodus":With the HD5770 GFX card - comes in under your budget... to get the Onyx with the same GFX card and OS would add just under Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
