New computer - is this spec ok for FSX?

I'm going to buy a new computer for running FSX on. I'm a bit out of touch as to what is what nowadays so your comments on the spec below would be appreciated:AMD Phenom II 1055 CPU1.5tb hard driveGgb ddr ram22x dual layer dvd writerNvidia GT220 512mb Gfx7.1 sound2nd sound card (basic) so main sound can be in 7.1 via speakers and voice coms can be via 2n card and headsetWindows & premiumThere is an option to upgrade to a Phenom II x6 1090 cpu for an extra

I'm not one of the hardware experts here but this is what I can come up with:-Your processor looks good you may want to overclock it for more performance, so throw in a good cooling system also. Go for the upgrade if you can-How much memory do you have? Your specs just say GB. Try going for DDR3 RAM, this means you'll have to find a compatible motherboard-I'd say change the GPU to a 250GTS (or 480GTX if that's in your budget). You'll want at least 1GB of video memory for FSXOverall this seems like a good enough setup to me, my computer is somewhat similar to yours and I get 25fps in most areas, just stay away from those cities.RegardsAlex

Whoops ........ its 4gb ram, I can stretch my budget a little further, so more ram and a differnt grafix card are not out of the question.

Im going to be straight with you here but your system for FSX is exactly as you put it: ok. It's not excellent and will probably only run FSX in any decent manner with mid, maybe slightly right of mid sliders. A figure is always handy for your budget to allow us to get the max. for your money and get you the details for the best system in your budget.

You will need a good board like this one to overclock that chip to 4GHz.http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=MB-281-GIIt's still cheaper to go that way instead of 1090T + 80 quid board like I didI would add one of these coolers:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=HS-005-PLhttp://www.heatsinkfactory.com/thermalrigh...cpu-cooler.htmlMy 1090T is the same chip with an unlocked multiplier and I get 20+ FPS- PMDG MD-11 (Virtual Cockpit) at Heathrow (uk2000) with all sliders maxed except for water 2xLow, autogen normal and 70% Traffic (UT2)

Don't pick a I3 over a 1055T. If you want a budget I7 set up go for a I7 860 or a I5 instead

If you can't stretch to one of the i7's such as the "Onyx" then I would probably be looking at the "Exodus":With the HD5770 GFX card - comes in under your budget... to get the Onyx with the same GFX card and OS would add just under
