AI Help

Featured Replies

Hi all, sorry if this is in the wrong part fo the forum but I didnt know where else to put it. :)I want to try adding my own AI traffic to my sim but dont really know how to do it. I have tried doing it but it never works. I see so many AI repaints in the library and would love to have them on my sim. I was wondering if someone could take me through it step by step or if anyone knows anywhere that has already listed it out, in the simplest possible way. Thanks, Ollie

I recommend you start by getting and studying this fine Tutorial by Mike Stanton named "AI Made Easy":http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=99920Once you understand the basic concepts, you will find creating your own traffic very rewarding.

Thanks very much. Will have a loook:)Ollie

Tried it but didnt work. Think it might be because Im using FSX, any other suggestions??Ollie

The process is the same regardless of which version of FS you are using.1. You must have the aircraft in question installed.2. You must create the three elements (txt files) of any Traffic file.3. They then get compiled into a Traffic file with a bgl extension.4. That Traffic bgl must be placed in the scenery subfolder of an "active" scenery entry - most commonly the Scenery/World/scenery subfolder. Many of use use AI Flight Planner (free) by Don Grovestine which makes the process much easier. You can check out his program here:http://members.shaw.ca/aifp/Hope that helps get you started.

Ok thanks for your help, I already have AIFP but dont really know how to use it, and the maual that comes with it I personally think doesnt make it very clear. Is it possible to have some help using that. Thanks, Ollie
