help with putting maps into ini. file

Featured Replies

And I got all my folders and everything set up im on the verge of getting this going but am confused about how to import the maps into the ini file. And in the quick guide he says the ini. file you download from him has yahoo maps in it but thats not the case.so I was wondering if someone could maybe send me there .ini in email or something so I can look at it and just copy some of the config over?lol this was a lot harder then I thought it would be I live in the states so like yahoo or bing would be ideal I think. i also appreciate any help reguarding this matter thanks a lot my email

Hi Zolteck,This is the bit of the ini file you need to edit# The currently active service is configured here. Only ONE active source please.# The other source statements should be commented out.#source=Acme Globe Servicesource=Service Example 1#source=Service Example 3#source=Service Example 4In this example service 1 is being used (Bing/virtual earth)I think service 2 was the defunct Google serviceService 3 Is Yahoo mapsIf you want to change the service, simply pur a hash in front of the service you do not want to use and remove the hash from theservice yu do want to use.Generally youwill find service 3 best for North America and Service 1 for Europe.I've never found any area well covered by service 4 personally and service 2 is banned - don't even try getting it to work.Once you've got it running, search the forum for posts about level mapping. That really makes a difference.IAN

that's all very intresting..so I was wronge to assume those maps are not in the file..so now im wondering where im going wronge I got the files set up right. and when I start tile proxy the black dos screen comes up runs through some codes and ends saying tileproxy is ready for takeoff, but one time when I did it it said something afterwords about it locating the driver file or something about it finding a driver....at least I thinkI am using fs9 my catche file is set up cache_folder=F:tile catchecache.service1 for example oneeverythink seems good my firewall is off hmmm what gives? any ideas?

actually in the guide it says Acme Globe Service is only an example. and I wonder why they cant give spefic info for this over the net lol just dont get it

Normally, if you get to the point that the dos window says tileproxy is ready for takeoff, then it's usually OK from that point. If yu are getting a message about a driver, then if you are using windows 7, it won't load an unsigned driver and the tileproxy driver is an unsigned driver. If that's the case, you need to download and install readydriver plus.http://uhlik.sk/?page=swreadydriverIt does take a while to set up and you probably need to read through the manual atwo or three times before you understand where you are going wrong. Also if you haven't done so, read Ed Truthan's pages on the internet which provide a set up guide in more simple terms.http://www.edtruthan.com/tileproxy/tutorial/index.htmIAN
