Simconnect installation

Featured Replies

In Vista64, deleted FSX Simconnect folder in WINSXS dir (to downgrade Accelerator to SP2) and now whenever reinstalling FSX (Sp1 or SP2 or Accel) the folders don't appear any longer. consequence is that it's possible to use FSX as long as it doesn't look for Simconnect otherwise "Failed to load Simconnect.dll" message appears, so unable to use almost all addons...

Well, that's not the way to do it.... :( .My advise is to search the correct simconnect.msi file; right click it and choose repair. If that doesn't work you have to start regedit, search for "simconnect" and delete all the entries you find in your registry. Now you can reinstall the 3 simconnect versions. It is not necessary to "downgrade" simconnect. It will not interfere with fsx if you're having simconnect versions installed that are not used by your add ons.

Thank you very much indeed. It worked as per your instructions.
