REX Essentails Plus W/Overdrive Textures Not Installing.
Hi this is caused by installing the upgrade into the wrong folder. The proper folder to install the upgrade in is the folder containing the "rex.exe" file from the current install! Matt's solution provides a work around, but only if the upgrade and current install are both with OD or without. Better is to uninstall the upgrade and reinstall to the proper folder.

Dave, the FlightAware option is what is says it is, an option. You don't need it to use Essential. If you experience otherwise, please open a topic in our support forums. We'll try to answer your questions.- REX Essential Plus

Well, that's not the way to do it.... :( .My advise is to search the correct simconnect.msi file; right click it and choose repair. If that doesn't work you have to start regedit, search for "simconnect" and delete all the entries you find in your registry. Now you can reinstall the 3 simconnect versions. It is not necessary to "downgrade" simconnect. It will not interfere with fsx if you're having simconnect versions installed that are not used by your add ons.- Where can I get simconnect?
First check if all three versions have installed.go to the folder windows\winsxs. do a search for simconnect. You should find three simconnect.dll amongst other stuff. If not, check which versions you got. To get them all together download and install the fsx sdk. The sdk is also on your cd's/dvd's I believe.- Simconnect SP2, ASE and FSX network
Rather late, but not frequently on this forum. Strange problem. FSX opens the simconnect port on startup in listening mode. Should be available to ASE if you start after starting fsx. The other way around could be a problem, if ASE is not checking the port status after initial failure. I do not use ASE, so I don't know. It should work when you start FSX first. Can you monitor the status of the ports and check if fsx indeed opens the simconnect port(s)?- Simconnect test failure
Actually that is my real name (glued together) Happy flying! You can always run currports to see what happens. It is possible that ASX opened the connection via simconnect where the other programs aren't capable. It happened before...- Simconnect test failure
I had another brainfart :( , run currport on the 2.3 and open FSX. You should see the simconnectport opened in listening state. Do you see that?- Simconnect test failure
Do you start fsx before running SB on the 2.2??OK show us the logfile. Could you download a freeware program called currports. It shows us the IP port usage. Install on the 2.2 Run currports and start SB. Are new connections (ports) opened? (Press F5 in Currports to refresh the screen).Last question: I assume the systems can see each other on the network? (shared folders etc)- Going from SP2 to Acceleration
You should be fine. Simconnect stays installed, even if you uninstall fsx completely. You can run the 3 versions together. I at least do with Acceleration installed and everything works fine.- Simconnect test failure
Hi, files look rather strange... :( . Copy and paste the following content into the files to replace the current content:simconnect.xml:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252" ?><SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0"><Descr>SimConnect</Descr><Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename><Disabled>False</Disabled><SimConnect.Comm> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Protocol>IPv4</Protocol> <Scope>global</Scope> <Address>192.168.2.3</Address> <Port>6600</Port> <MaxClients>10</MaxClients> <MaxRecvSize>8192</MaxRecvSize> <DisableNagle>True</DisableNagle></SimConnect.Comm></SimBase.Document> simconnect.cfg[simconnect]protocol=IPv4Address=192.168.2.3Port=6600MaxRecieveSize=8192DisableNagle=1Store the xml file in the same directory as your fsx.cfg file on the 2.3 and the cfg in your documents folder on the 2.2If you want, you can change the portnumber, but it should be good when you're using the MS firewall.start fsx first on the 2.3, the SB on the 2.2. Good luck!- Simconnect test failure
Hi,can you tell what you installed on both machines? Can you post the xml and cfg files content?- How to get rid of Frame Rate Counter
Shift Z, once, or several times to scroll through all the different counters....KeesZ- Core i5 750
I bought one last week and have built a system with the following main components:i5 750Gigabyte p55-ud3 mobo3*2gb OCZ reaper 1600 (they came in one box, so why not use all 3 of them....)500 GB Seagate SAT2Asus eah 4870 1GBCoolermaster Hyper TX3 CPU coolerCoolermaster Realpower 520WVista 64 UltimateSystem runs smooth and fast. To take full advantage of the turbo mode of the cpu, you need a good cooler, the stock cooler is way to small and will not allow the turb mode to work because it's temperature dependent. My system runs at 20C under stress, GPU at 35C. I fly FS9 with lots of add-ons, its giving my hobby a new dimension on this system; never seen so much smoothness and details. I ran into the OOM error when approaching EGLL from Aerosoft with all the scenery at max, also a new experience, but this one i can do without. Fixed this by small adjustments in the scenery settings.IMO very good value for money, total costs for the above system components- frame speed on fs9
I was trying to get the frame rate up for months too, tweaking here and there, following advise etc :( . But yesterday I found the ultimate solution: I replaced some parts inside the PC and now it's running at an average of 100 FPS with everythig maxed out! The new parts: Intel i5, OCZ 6Gb 1600 DDR3, Gigabyte MoBo, ATI Radeon 4870 1GB. To make a long story short: if you want real improvement go to the hardware reseller!Kees- 737NG Taxi Speed
I've had the same problem recently with a Logitech force 3d pro joystick and the 737NG. Fixed the problem by deleting the joystick assigments and subsequently assigned everything again. Works OK since then. - REX Essential Plus
