September 28, 201213 yr How would I set up Active Sky to be the weather engine and REX to ONLY do the textures. Also is there a weather influenced function in REX? Thanks!
September 28, 201213 yr Moderator Can't answer about weather influenced - perhaps someone who used REX can - but I doubt it. As far as the rest - you have several options 1) Load REX - select your theme - install theme - close REX - load AS2012 - it will handle it from there. 2) if you want to use weather influenced, it's a bit more tricky Load REX - select theme - install theme - close REX - load AS2012 - go into graphics tab and select save snapshot - give snapshot a name - say SUNNY. Repeat for different themes, stormy, cloudy, rainy, etc - saving each snapshot in AS until you have a good selection. Now when you load AS2012 you get the weather and then have it select the appropriate theme from your saved REX themes. One other selection you might consider - give AS textures a try by allowing AS to compile a set of snapshots automatically and use them for a while. You can always delete them and use a REX theme. September 28, 201213 yr So you cant have a weather influenced theme in REX? Also how do I know what textures FSX are using? AS or REX?
September 30, 201213 yr So you cant have a weather influenced theme in REX? Yes you can. Use the option to load textures along with a weather theme Also how do I know what textures FSX are using? AS or REX? Due to the way FSX works, all new textures overwrite the previous ones. So the textures installed the latest will be used
