August 13, 201015 yr So Im going to install W7 Ultimate, with Vista the first thing I always did was activate the Default Admin account and install fsx under that account, then I never really have to worry about permissions or any of that other jazz. Now I know my way around a PC and I'm the only one that uses this pc so I'm not really worried about someone going on and doing something crazy which is the reason why MS hide that account and introduced UAC, just wondering if anyone one else does this and if you know of any possible issues with FSX itself installed in this manner. Call me old fashioned but as the Admin of my home network I like using the real admin account. :(
August 15, 201015 yr Ian, no problem as to use the Admin account and the UAC itself.Best thing to do is to install FSX outside of C:\Program Files and, if possible, on a seperate partition or harddisk. This way you won't hav eto worry about the way Windows 7 has it's security setup for the OS disk and the program files folder. Kind Regards, Tom van der Horst World-of-AI
August 19, 201015 yr Using Admin account, UAC turned off, no problems whatsoever. Always been running like that. W7Ult.x64. FSX on separate disk.
