  1. Rest in peace David, you'll be missed by your family and the FS community.I wish the family strength with the acceptance of their loss
  2. we are still here guys.We have some serious time issues which prevent us from doing a lot of work on the woai side of things. Our major efforts are at the moment with our families and real lives. We will keep on releasing packages but at the moment there are not that much that we have completed and ready for release
  3. they should be in fsx/scenery/world/scenery
  4. This was the advice given :You did a complete new setup of your machine but merged the OLD installer folder? Then you still have the data on the old installed package in the woai.data file. If this is the case you have two possibilities:1. Grab your old WOAI aircraft folders and flightplans from your old machine and you will have the same setup as before (as you already changed some things use also the old installer folder again)2. Use a fresh installer.
  5. World of AI packages use the HTAI models as well. Models are delivered with the packages.Same goes for MAIW packages.
  6. Gentlemen,It isn't a matter of interest, it's a matter of available time.We all have pretty busy lives at the moment and let me assusre you that development hasn't stopped nor slowed. It's just the spare time we are lacking at the moment to get the packages tested and released properly. With a limited number of people we are trying to strive for good quality freeware AI for the community. However, this is still a hobby. So real life prevails over the hobby at all times.Just to give you an example, I have done 5 microsoft certifications, one vmware certification and a 4 year bachelor degree comapcted into 11 months of studying ( the past 11 months). Did I do this since I like to study ? Nope I did it because I was out of a job and needed to get all certifications back up to speed. So that leaves little to no time for hobbies.I started at a new employer 8 weeks ago and that takes a lot of time as well.Last time I flew in FS was Febuary 2010.So the interest is still there and the pace will hopefully pick up againBut this is still a hobby......... not the real world.......
  7. Windows XP service pack 2 support has ended on 13 July 2010.Windows Vista without service packs has ended on 13 April 2010.As long as you are on Win XP SP3 you will recieve support and updates until 8 April 2014Win XP 64 bit support ( since win XP 64 bit doesn't have SP3 ) will also be available until 8 April 2014.The support for Windows Vista with service packs will end on 11 April 2017.I hope this clears things up
  8. Ian, no problem as to use the Admin account and the UAC itself.Best thing to do is to install FSX outside of C:\Program Files and, if possible, on a seperate partition or harddisk. This way you won't hav eto worry about the way Windows 7 has it's security setup for the OS disk and the program files folder.
  9. When you do a backup you should verify to see if all needed items are there prior to reinstallation.Best thing to do is a manual backop of the aicraft folders and the traffic files
  10. World of AI can be copied over to Win7 but make sure you move all files in the installer directory.Make sure you take the WOAIDATA file with the installer over to your new system. If you redownload the installer and you don't take the WOAIDATA file form your old installation your history of installed airlines will be gone
  11. You can check the NTFS permissions by clicking on the Advanced button on the security tab of a file or folder. Then click change permissions and then click EditAny Deny parameter will override an Allow parameter.Make sure that Full Control is set to allow and that underneath no Deny option is checked.
  12. Check both the NTFS and the share permissions to see if they are set to Full control in order to become master of the two files and directories they are in.
  13. And thanks to that honoring of our request we have been able to regain permission from Charles Dayhuff. This will aid us in bringing back the packages that have been withdrawn 16 months ago.So wait and they will become available. As others stated we do mind that packages that have been withdrawn are distributed by others. This don
  14. Win7 has a far better support for drivers then previous versions. So you will have a lot less problems to get devices running. If the devices are recognised then there's no need to fix them with the drivers for your mobo.Perfomance gains won't be an issue here. That said, it would be wise to get the video card driver from the videocard manufacturer. The generic driver windows provides has less option then the one from Nvidia or ATI
