I hate mergers especially loosing Northwest but we are in real need of a new Delta pack that reflects the merger. The regional carriers flying the Delta flag like Compass Airlines needs an update as well. Just a humble request so our sim reflects 2011 not 2008. Before someone says it I wish I had the talent and time to do it myself but both are on limited supply on my end these days. United Airlines and all their regionals would be the next major work needed. These mergers not only create havok in the real world but virtually as well as creating these packages is no easy task.

Unfortunatly WOAI hasen't been making packages like they used to. I remember when they had at least 1 new AI package a week. Take this month for example WOAI has released 2 packages.

WOAI was a great concept for adding AI. I hope interest in it comes back...

I thought I covered this in the original post. Hard or not I have limited time these days to putts with it. Also everyone would have enough work cut out for change adjusting every AFCAD that Northwest flew to. Accommodating this merge is huge work on both ends. So if someone could at least do the WOAI package that would cut some of this in half. Northwest flew to many airports and all those in FS have to be changed over to Delta. Seeing as WOAI is the easiest for everyone to get into I'm sure many appreciate this thread. Having updates for both Delta and United for 2010 (or 2011) would make us all very happy then the work begins on adjusting all those airports...

If you want this pack done by WoAI so badly, this is the wrong place to ask for. As you may know, in order for them to create a traffic package, it is mandatory that they have aircraft models, liveries and flight plans at hand along with the relevant permissions from the authors. So I'd recommend you go to the Avsim library, search together all necessary files and post a request on their forum. They will appreciate it. If any of the above is unavailable, don't hope too much that they will create a package. Then you will have to wait until the needed "ingredients" become available or you'll be stuck with the current offering, if you don't want to use your precious time by doing it yourself!

First off it's not a case of wanting it so badly, this post/thread was just a suggestion. Second the 'precious time' comment is very condescending and uncalled for...

Gentlemen,It isn't a matter of interest, it's a matter of available time.We all have pretty busy lives at the moment and let me assusre you that development hasn't stopped nor slowed.It's just the spare time we are lacking at the moment to get the packages tested and released properly.With a limited number of people we are trying to strive for good quality freeware AI for the community.However, this is still a hobby.So real life prevails over the hobby at all times.Just to give you an example, I have done 5 microsoft certifications, one vmware certification and a 4 year bachelor degree comapcted into 11 months of studying ( the past 11 months). Did I do this since I like to study ? Nope I did it because I was out of a job and needed to get all certifications back up to speed.So that leaves little to no time for hobbies.I started at a new employer 8 weeks ago and that takes a lot of time as well.Last time I flew in FS was Febuary 2010.So the interest is still there and the pace will hopefully pick up againBut this is still a hobby......... not the real world.......

Using the AIG flightplans, I created my own Delta traffic thats based off the paints of the WOAI version. Its rather easy, but very time consuming if your a newcomer to the AI world (took me around 10 hours to gather the paints/models, install them all, and make sure it's all configured and what not for FS) It's worth it though! I also made custom traffic (all are based off the older WOAI versions) for:United (Pre merger- I'm not putting that ugly United/Continental livery in my FS!)
