Roads appear blocky is this normal?

Roads and surrounding scenery looks blocky and out of focus is this normal with 1m resolution? I have run TileProxy with level mapping on and off with no difference, changing the level mapping parameters did nothing either.I have an AMD Atlon X2 dual core, 2.9 GHz, 2GB RAM, with a 1Mbps DSL line.Here are a couple of screenshots and my TPini. file.Todd[TileProxy]# Enable or disable worldwide photographic scenery coverage (Yes/True/On to enable)master_enable=On# Write a logfile to disk. MoxeeA lot of things effect what we see on the screen...internet speed is the least important.The ini looks ok for 1m; what about FSX? The 2G of RAM looks a bit on the weak side but I've run with that little and didn't notice that the scenery was detectably different.What is the FSX scenery resolution (TEXTURE_RESOLUTION)? it should match TileProxy at 1mTerrain mesh settings are not relevant to image clarity.What is your zoom level? The lower zoom levels will compress the screen presentation which makes it look sharper - I typically fly 60% in most views.What is your altitude? 2m resolution looks pretty good from 1500' and up; so 1m should look ok from the 1000' range.Downloading 1m (level 17) scenery doesn't guarantee that it's actually 1m resolution quality. It might have been made from 2m imagery at this location - you didn't specify where you were...Imagery that is true north/south or east/west will line up with the pixels on the screen and look sharp. Diagonal lines (roads and roof edges) will be pixelated (jagged)Screen resolution matters: my cheapie flat screen maxes out at 1280 by 1024. I'm gonna get jaggies at low altitude. Those with higher res screens and the horsepower to drive them will likely have a significantly sharper display of the same area at the same altitude from the same image source.The source imagery doesn't often have a missing picture but if it does, the resulting scenery tile will be made from the next higher level that is complete and will look a little less sharp.If you fly too fast to download all the image tiles needed, it could also cause the scenery to be made with whatever set IS complete. This is not slow download necessarily; you can pass into a new region before FSX is done with the current region and it would probably just give up and move ahead to the new, leaving the current unfinished.FSX scenery is calculated and generated from remote to close (far-to-near order). It recalulates every time a scenery boundary is crossed and the scenery boundaries are 1.2km across. If you fly faster than it can calculate and prepare the display for the screen, you end up flying over less sharp imagery because FSX never gets caught up unless you pause, circle a small area or fly very slow. Naturally this is very variable and depends on your CPU and the scenery range you are expecting it to display and may other variables.The LA area and LAX has nice, sharp imagery. Perhaps you should test your settings and such with "great" imagery; if the results are good, your settings are OK. If not, then something needs fixing. Photo quality does vary a lot. Most places in the world do NOT have 1.2m imagery even if you can zoom in to level 17 with a browser; enlarged 2m resolution is NOT the same as being 1m resolution.Hope this helps a bit...Loyd

Loyd,Thanks for the reply. I did the LAX test and for the most part there was no change, except for a few areas around the plane that had a sharper image, I think I'm over flying the scenery. I checked the FSX.Cfg file. I think these are the ones that relate to TileProxy.Texture_Bandwith_Mult=400Fiber_Frame_Time_Fraction=1.33LOD_Radius=4.500000Texture_Resolution=25
