August 16, 201015 yr I mean no disrespect with this comment but I am a little disappointed in Aidan Sandri's review the CLS MD81/82. It is little much of a review more than it reads like an advertisement for the product. As a matter of fact, it appears Mr. Sandri pretty much copied and pasted from the CLS website the history of the MD80. CLS's website claims that this MD81/82 is "Featuring the best visuals and realistic flight dynamics." Having read that I was waiting for someone to publish a review of this product and I was a little disappointed in AVSIM's brief and very non-descriptive review of this product. A review of any FS aircraft should detail more than four sentences on the flight dynamics. And I am a little perplexed at this comment, "The aircraft will not spin when in a stall like it should and does stall at around 90 knots, which I believe is incorrect as if I took off at 150knots, the aircraft should stall at 140-150knots."This particular review appears to have slipped by the editorial staff at AVSIM because it really tells the reader little more than what the CLS site does in their product page. August 17, 201015 yr Couldn't agree more with you Falcon. I have purchased this product, but with all due respect reading the AVSIM review would have told me no more than I could have gleaned myself without buying it. A quick visit to the CLS Forum website would have shown up some issues. A reviewer should have at least mentioned minor issues apart from the Stall thing?? (I don't get what he meant either?). These issues are nothing major I might add, and I am enjoying this product, but this list goes something like this; I use Win 7 64 bit and the latest Nvidia drivers, Nose wheel doesn't turn when you have yaw damper on. The 2D panel doesn't display properly when you first start - or doesn't display it all. Sometimes, when loading another texture the Tug attachs to the nosewheel and you cannot get rid of it without exiting and starting over. Some of the warning messages do not extinguish or illuminate when they should. There is a bug with the FMS approach speed calculations that offer up wrong speeds for Flaps 28 and flaps 40... and trimming the aircraft on approach to the recommended speeds still results in a slight nose down pitch - you must disconnect the AP and manually land to get the right touchdown. These are not a biggy for me, as the product is great fun to fly and good to look at. As well the number of free third party paint schemes is growing, which enhances this all the more for me. There is a mention of a cone shaped variation in the first service pack made in the forums - so I look forward to that..My mini review is that a lot of the systems look like they work, and clicking on switches does give audio feedback, but apart from changing the message display in the overhead, have little real relevance to the actual operation of this product. However, the FME works with the AP for the most part and that is a big plus - you can pretty much track the ILS ok. It has not been sold as complex, but rather light and indeed it is, but in a good way - you can get this baby running without too much consideration for bleed pressure, temperature variation or hydraulic failure. (For those not wanting to go too deeply into a full aircraft sim). The sounds I would disagree with from the reviewer. I don't much like the sounds that are provided by CLS for this, and there is an alternative (payware) which sounds fantastic by comparison. There are some sound issues still for me in the cockpit, (they suddenly go very quiet on takeoff thrust for example - and there is no rattle as you would expect. The reverse thrust is not loud enough and you can hear looping going on when taxiing and in level flight.Having said all that, I still get a sense of great satisfaction after manually landing this little beauty and applying reverse thrust. I do get a real feel of a mid sized jet handling about it. It has that weighty presence that only a few of the developers seem to get right.Cheers

No disrespect taken, all criticisms are constructive. While I agree that the review was a little "thin"....I gave the editorial benefit to this new reviewer.I'll ensure that his next review has more "meat" to it, and will check the developers website to ensure it's not a "cut and paste" job. Thanks to all for the observations. August 18, 201015 yr Hi Falcon and Ray,I was the reviewer for this product, firstly Id let to thank you for your feedback, it does help me alot to improve for the future. With the "Copy and Paste" from CLS's website, I did this when intention to give you, the reader an idea of what CLS has said, what is in this product. That is why I used the word, claim. I won't do this for next time, if you feel I shouldn't, I do think its a bit harsh to call this a "Copy and Paste" review, as for every single section apart from the metioned history part, there was no copy and paste.Flying Dynamics was probably the hardest part I could write about as I am not sure what people would want to read, I had no troubles with them so I wrote it quick and easy (with the exception of the stall), I did not have the pitch down issue either. I will go onto forums of the developer and look for reported issues and metion them next time. Thanks again for the feedback, no offense was taken :)Cheers.Aidan Sandri.
