August 18, 201015 yr After installing RC4 on top of FsX and FSPassengers real-world weather fails to download. I get the message that FsX cannot access the web, despite the connection being OK. This happens both in the "download real weather and the 15 minute update modes. OS is W7.I am sure there is a simple, stupid solution to this one.
August 18, 201015 yr RC4 only reads weather from FSX via FSUIPC. Be sure FSUIPC for FSX is at version FSUIPC4 4.60 or later from this site:http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlRC does not modify any of your FS web settings. While there in the FS9 section grab makerwys version 4.41, install it in your FSX folder, and from within RC run the scenery rebuild making sure RC is called up with a shortcut with an advanced property set to run as admin. This update is necessary for RC to read some sceneries correctly.I've seen postings on other forums where FS9 and FSX users have been unable to download weather, an issue not involving RC.Insure in all of your security settings that FSX is a trusted Internet client and whatever server it uses is trusted as well. You also might try having FSX called up with a shortcut set to run it as an admin just to see if that makers a difference. Some say it is not necessary, others state otherwise.
August 19, 201015 yr FSX(Good)-Probably the most popular compared to X-Plane. -The Graphics are amazing if you have a god-like Graphics Card-Many Many add-ons available to download-Online. Play as either a Pilot or ATC-Missions -Many sites for Help. Including downloads, reviews, etc.(Bad)-Not very realistic compared to X-plane-Hard on performance-Planes are good but, still could some work------------------- Life Cover| Life Insurance
August 19, 201015 yr If the McAfee firewall has a log you could look at, reenable it, then start FSX to download weather. The firewall should block it. Look at the log and get the name or IP address of the site. There should be a list of trusted sites that you could add it to therefore leaving protection in place. Thanks, I disabled the McAfee firewall and it worked.
