August 28, 201015 yr Hello, I'm currently running an EVGA GTX470. I'm going to take advantage of the step up program and move to a GTX480. This means I'll be without an Nvidia card for about a week. I have an old ATI card that I could use as a back up. Not for flying but just for web surfing. My question is, if I uninstall the nvidia drivers, am I safe to install the ATI drivers without having to do a full Windows 7 reinstall? I have an old laptop that I could use in the interim, but I would prefer to use my desktop. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
August 28, 201015 yr Yes, It's definetly fine to unistall the Nvidia drivers and install ATI, just make sure you use a program like "Driver Sweeper" (free) to make sure all traces are gone after you uninstall.
