Pardon my lack of intelligence when it comes to PC hardware. I am currently using 3024 MB of RAM at 333 MHZ. Would I see a huge difference if I upgraded to Corsair dual channel twinx 2048 DDR2 operating at 800 mhz memory sticks. My hardware will not support DDR3, so thats out of question.

That memory is so slow (333mhz) that of course it's worth it to get the 800MHz the memory is bottlenecking your whole system more likely than not!
