FSX buildings morphing

Featured Replies

During approach to Portland, OR (KPDX) in the fog (very low ceiling > approx 500') the buildings looked like hollywood props from movie Blazing Saddles, or perhaps a bombed out city of WW2. Thiswas first time I have seen this issue. Likely only happens in low ceiling (foggy) conditions.Any suggestions for correcting it will be appreciated. Thanks,Ken Boardman

Been a long time since I saw the movie Blazing Saddles and Hollywood props. :( I assume you are saying parts of the buildings disappear? Is this the default version of Portland or the FS9 commercial addon (which is not compatible with FSX)? If buildings are disappearing, you could have old textures which are not FSX compatible when DX10 preview is turned on. Disable the addon or turn off DX10 and see if this fixes the problem.Best regards,Jim

Thanks for the reply Jim. The PDX scenery is default FSX and DX10 Preview is not activated. I'm running FSX in DX9 mode. You are correct regarding your interpretation of appearance of buildings. Since the buildings look normal when weatheris clear I'm thinking the issue is likely related to my FSX and / or nHancer settings. I'll be experimenting a bit latertoday; and I'll try to get a screen cap of the PDX "war zone" buildings in the low ceiling / pea soup weather conditionand attach it ~:)Best regards, Ken
