September 5, 201015 yr HI, Just curious if an addition of an airport is an automatic weather station in FS? In other words, if the name of a new added airport has a corresponding updateable METAR information in real life will there be automatic updating for that newly added airport? In what file is all this information available? Sorry if it sounds so confusing, I'm just not sure how to word it. regards,Masc
September 6, 201015 yr No. There are a lot of small airports that are not weather stations, and adding an airport will not create a weather station. If there is a weather station without an airport in real life, it should already be in FS. Art

I was thinking into maybe creating a few inside a particular area in a grid form and making a more accurate weather pattern to fly in. Also, do you know about how big are the weather areas per station? Just curious, and thanks fro your help, regards,Macs
September 8, 201015 yr I don't have email alerts turned on Macs, so I didn't see your post until now. I'm not aware of any way to add weather stations. It is possible that a real life weather station not in FSX is included in ASE. What airport is this? Art
September 9, 201015 yr To make any airport a reporting station, all you have to do is use AFCAD or some similar program (AFX, ADE9X) to add an AWOS or ATIS frequency to that airport. The next time you run FS the new frequency should show up as an option in the ATC window, and of course you can also tune it manually. Works for me. ^_^I have no idea how large a reporting area is.
