MakeMDL Reverse tool Does it exist?

Featured Replies

Im looking for a tool that will reverse the function of the MakeMDL SDK tool and convert the .mdl file into a 3-D model that i can thenn load into a 3D design program such as gmax or FSDS2 Please can someone tell me if such a tool exists and where to get itThanks Jim

Generally, no, there is not a tool to accomplish what you are asking. You could visit http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/tdestig/id17.htm or http://www.aircraftmanager.com/ .However, the *.mdl for fs2004 is even different than fs2002. Until the software development kits are available from MS, designers don't know all the keys to the new format.W. Sieffert

Thanks ill give it a try

Nope and the reason why is someone(other than you)made those models and once converted much of the info in the original file is lost(It's not needed by flight sim). Why don't you try to make you own from scratch it can be fun and it will be YOUR work not someone else's. Dan

Kinda like putting the baby back into the womb? :-)

"Somebody else's baby into a different womb!"Personally I would like someone taking the MDL I released and reworking (hacking) it. If you want a certain aircraft the best bet is to spend the long hours doing it from scratch IMORegards, Michaelhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com
